General Custer

54” x 34” Spray Paint on Panel with Resin

General Custer was called to serve the Union Army during the outbreak of the American Civil War.  He developed a strong reputation throughout the war as a successful cavalry commander.

After the Civil War, Custer was dispatched to the west to fight in the American Indian Wars and was appointed lieutenant colonel.  He and all his men were killed at the Battle of Little Bighorn in 1876 fighting against a coalition of tribes.  Popularly known as "Custer's Last Stand," Custer and his men were defeated so decisively that it has overshadowed all of his prior achievements.
